Joseph Ponce Obituary

Joseph J. Ponce III, passed away peacefully at his home in San Angelo, Texas on Sunday, October 28, 2018. He was born on February 22, 1951 in Racine, Wis. the son of the late Joseph J. Ponce, Jr. and Petra (nee: Rodriguez) Ponce Paredes and Santos Paredes and lived almost his entire life in Racine graduating from Case High School. Joe recently moved to San Angelo with his wife in September 2017. Joe has known the love of his life, Elsa, for over 45 years. They were married in Racine, Wis. on August 3, 1974. Joe had been employed by American Motors, General Magnaplate (formerly Ray Tech), apartment manager for Bay View Investments (Inho Partnerships), and retired from Wisconsin Plating. A true and Christian man with a devoted Catholic faith, Joe was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Racine, Wisconsin. Joe enjoyed watching Milwaukee Brewers baseball and Green Bay Packers football, but most of all spending as much time as he could with his wife, son, and chihuahua. Surviving are his beloved wife, Elsa: son, Joseph J. Ponce IV and special friend Jamie Grant; chihuahua Iris; sisters Guadalupe (Paul) Castaneda, Monica (Martin) Lascon, Cruz Paredes; sister-in-law Bernice (Alfredo) Castro; and brother-in-law Joe Raymond (Carol) Aguirre. Joe is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention all by name. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Ponce, Jr; mother, Petra Ponce Paredes; stepfather Santos Paredes; brother Santos Paredes, Jr.; mother-in-law Anita Aguirre; and father-in-law Jose’ Aguirre. A memorial will be held in San Angelo, Texas on Friday, November 2nd at 2 pm at Gutierrez Funeral Chapel/North. The family would like to thank San Angelo Hospice for their love, compassion, and respect for Joe; Shannon Medical Center for their understanding, care, and professionalism; and Da Vita for their years of help, friendship, and love.
