Armando H. Puente departed this life and entered into eternal peace on Friday, September 10, 2021 in San Angelo, Texas. Armando was born on January 11, 1962 to Seferino Puente (deceased) and Juanita Hernandez Puente (deceased).
Armando was involved in Tang Soo Do since the age of 15 and was a fifth-degree black belt.
He promoted 10 black belts, two reaching their 2nd degree as the Master of the Academy of the Fighting Arts.
Armando loved to compete and teach his students the love of the art. Armando enjoyed being a judge at Karate tournaments. When he stepped into the ring he came to life. The joy he had on his face when he judged the younger children was wonderful. Parents would come up to him after the competition and tell him how much they appreciated him as a judge. Armando judged tournaments with his black belts, Charles, Jared, Cindy, Debbie, and Juan. When they were together you could see how his love of the art was passed on. Many people’s lives have been touched and changed forever because of Armando’s love of Martial Arts.
Armando loved his country, his family, his Apache heritage, cars, guns, motorcycles, and life.
When he called you friend it meant you would be his friend forever. Armando loved fiercely. There is nothing he would not do for you if you were in need.
Armando worked at Ethicon, the San Angelo State Supported Living Center, and most recent Facilities Management at Angelo State University.
Armando is preceded in death by both of his parents Seferino and Juanita Puente. Armando is survived by his son Mario Anthony Puente (wife) Laura Shrum, the love of his life Yvonne Wanoreck and her children Dylan Wanoreck (wife) Erica Wanoreck, Ethan Wanoreck, his partner Marquis Allen, special friend, and sister Cassandra Morgan and many more family and friends.
Friends and family are invited and may call at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 7 West Ave. "N", San Angelo, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
