Bacilia Ramirez

Bacilia Acevez Ramirez, 93 years old of Mereta, Tx, was called home to our Lord on Friday, January 27, 2023.  She was born in Mereta, Tx, to parents Manuel and Sofia Acevez.  She married the love of her life Domingo Ramirez.  They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2018. Bacilia was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mereta, Tx.     Bacilia truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures of visiting with family and friends on the phone.  She loved to make tamales, especially near the Christmas holidays.  Her favorite hobby was sewing and also had a collection of sewing machines.  She loved to play bingo.  She was deeply loved an brought immense joy to those around her.  She will be missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.  

Bacilia is survived by her daughters, Inez Gonzales, husband Henry, Rosa Martinez, husband Manuel from Mereta, Tx.  Sanjuana (Janie) Ramirez from Wall, Tx.  Loy Vaquera, husband Lupe from San Angelo, Tx.  Her sons, Jose Ramirez from San Angelo, Tx.  Ruben and Ramiro Ramirez from Mereta, Tx.  Bacilia was grandmother to 20 grandchildren, many great grandchidren, and great great grandchildren. Bacilia is preceded in death by her husband Domingo Ramirez, one son Edward (Moto) Ramirez, grandson Adam J.Martinez.  Her parents Manuel and Sofia Acevez and her siblings, Liboria A. Garza, Sofia A. Diaz, and Manuel and twin brother Acevez.  Also, daughters-in-law May and Dorothy Ramirez.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Meadow Creek Nursing Home, Saint Gabriel Hospice staff and caregiver (Emma) for all the love and care they gave our mom.

A Rosary will be read on Saturday at 10:30 am, February 11, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mereta, Texas.  Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, February 11,m 2023.
