With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of Benito M Jacobo, Sr. Benito passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Benito was born in San Angelo, Texas on September 6, 1938, to Patricia Montez and Simon Jacobo. He married Margarita Jacobo on September 16, 1964. Benny and Maggie celebrated 59 years of marriage. They worked and raised their family in San Angelo.
Benito was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He provided for his family as a barber for 61 years. His shop was next door to Aunt Maggie’s Kitchen that his beloved wife ran. If he was not cutting hair, you might find him next door with an apron on helping her at the restaurant. They made many lifelong friends during those years between the barber shop and restaurant. He continued to cut hair even days before his passing. Benito also enjoyed working on the yard and spending time with family and friends. Now Benito rejoins his wife, Margarita Jacobo and loved ones who have preceded him in death including grandmother, Vicenta Montez and sister, Sylvia D, Haechton.
Benito leaves his children, Benito Jacobo Jr., Elizabeth Ann Jacobo, and David Jacobo (Laura Portwood Cuellar); his grandchildren Benito Jacobo III, Matthew Jacobo, Conrad Rocha, Krislyn Rocha, and Rueben Rocha; his aunt, Carolina Montez, his brothers Joe Jacobo (Hortencia), Beto Dominguez (Judy), and Ruben Dominguez; his sisters Rebecca Montez Martinez and Virgina Maginness, and many extended family members and wonderful friends to lovingly cherish his memory.
Our dad, Benito will be dearly missed. He will be in our hearts, and we will always remember how much he loved us. Some of the things we will miss most will be his fighting spirit, fierce love, and tender concern for those around him.
