Benjamin Chavez Tapia

Benjamin Chavez Tapia, 89, of San Angelo, passed away on July 22, 2020.  A Rosary will be read on Sunday at 7:00 pm at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/Knickerbocker, 1102 Knickerbocker Rd.  Funeral Services will be on Monday at 10:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/Knickerbocker.

Mr. Tapia was born on November 13, 1930 in Mexico City.  He was a long-time employee of Randall Cadillac where he worked in the auto body shop.  He is preceded in death by a son, Juan "Pete" Tapia, Jr.

Survivors include his children, Lidia Mitchell, George Tapia, Mary Holder, Elsa Tapia, Yvonne Tapia and Benjamin Tapia Jr.  Other survivors include his grandchildren, Antonette McClinton, Stephanie Barrow, Laura Tapia, Marissa Martinez, Juan Carlos Sanchez, Victor Sanchez, Sondra Abalos, Julian Tapia, Christina Tapia, Gabriel Holder and Natalie Ball, Victor Anthony Sanchez, Sienna Hernandez, Ezequiel Hernandez,Clara Janae Zuniga, Javier Tapia and Malaquai Tapia; great-grandchildren, Annyha McClinton, Lily McClinton and Anthony Canava; great-great grandchildren, Isria Lopez and Aloni Lopez
