Carmelita Ferreira Obituary

With humble acceptance of God's will, we announce the passing of Maria Del Carmen Ferreira, 63, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in San Angelo, Texas.  Maria was the beloved daughter of Fernando Ferreira and Concepcion Garcia Ferreira.  She was born on June 18, 1959, in Ciudad de México, D.F., Mexico.

Lord, you have created all things bright and beautiful. You created all creatures great and small. You created all things wise and wonderful. And so, Lord, we have absolute faith that your hands made and fashioned Maria Del Carmen just exactly the way you intended to.  She was special to her parents, and her sister, Leticia who looked after her so well over the years.

Maria Del Carmen will be forever remembered by her sisters, Gloria Cruz, Leticia Ferreira and Teresa Mendoza and her brother, Fernando Ferreira.

Maria Del Carmen was a joyful person who never lost her childlike love of life. She looked forward to listening to music and dancing to all kinds of music.  She greeted every person with a smile, and she cared deeply for other people. Her family looked to her for an example of perseverance and inner strength, as she continued to fight battles in health and limitations that would crush many of us. She showed us what it is to be strong, because strength is not just found in being the biggest, the toughest or the fastest. Strength is found in one who keeps on going, keeps trying, day after day, long after others give up. Strength is found in one who knows success isn’t always big and flashy but knows that sometimes the greatest success is found in the tiniest of victories. In this way, Maria was a hero to her family and friends. Maria gave us the gift of beauty. Her life wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t glamorous. There were a lot of hard times, for her and for her family and friends. But she taught us that we can see past the difficulties and find the beauty, for there is always beauty!

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas, with the recitation of the Rosary scheduled for 6:30 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 301 West 17th Street, San Angelo, Texas, with committal services to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 1501 West Ave. "N", San Angelo, Texas.
