We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather, Carmen Rodriguez, age 91. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Hendrick Medical Center, Abilene, Texas. Carmen was a resident of San Angelo, Texas for many years before moving to Kenner, Louisiana where he worked as a tire technician with Schwegman, Inc. Tires and retired after twenty (20) years of service. He made his way back to Texas and made Abilene, Texas his home.
Carmen was born to Pedro and Petra Rodriguez on July 16, 1932, in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Petra Rodríguez, his siblings, Antonia Reyna, Carlota García, Petra Lucio, Flavia Ornelas, Cipriano Rodríguez, Ramon Rodríguez, Salome Rodríguez.
Carmen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Andrea Rodriguez, and his children, Roy Rodriguez, Sr., Nancy R. Valdez, Esmeralda Arambula (husband Tony), as well as his stepchildren, Pedro Rocha (wife Diane), Sandra Delacruz (husband Larry) and Toni Samaripa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carrie Mijares (husband Charlie), Roy Rodriguez (wife Letty), Joseph Rodriguez, Joey Asevedo (wife Alice), Andrew Arambula (wife Monica), Tony Arambula, Jr. (wife Yvette), Matthew Arambula, his step grandchildren, Mark Asevedo (wife Jennifer), Dion Rodriguez (wife Mechell), Eddie Ray Delacruz (wife Esme), Robert Gonzales (wife Heather), Diane Gaitan, A.J. Rubio (wife Joanne), Marcus Rubio. Carmen is also survived by many great grandchildren.
Serving as Pallbearers are Roy Rodriguez, Jr., Joseph Rodriguez, Dion Rodriguez, Mark Asevedo, Joey Asevedo and A. J. Asevedo. Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Arambula, Andrew Arambula and Eddie Delacruz.
