Cherry LaVon Garcia

With sadness, the family of Cherry LaVon Mayfield Garcia announces her passing on April 1, 2021 in San Angelo, Texas.  Cherry was born on March 17, 1962 in Brownwood, Texas to J. L. Mayfield and Fern Cooks Mayfield. 

She will be fondly remembered by her husband, Brian Anthony Garcia, her son Jesse Robert Barley and his wife, Luz; daughter Jessica Barley; her beloved grand-children Austin, Anthony, Valeria, Natali, Christopher and Conner; sister, Sandra Strickland and her husband, Leland; brother Steve Mayfield and his wife, Julie; her sister-in-law, Amy Saucedo and her husband Flavio. and her favorite cat "Cali".  Cherry enjoyed her role in maintaining the upkeep of her home and tending to household affairs.

Cherry's favorite past time was fishing, she enjoyed the challenge every time not knowing what she would catch that day…will it be her new record…will it be a new world record…will I catch a trophy fish…will I catch a fish that I have never caught before…will I catch a fish at all !…the unknown always kept her coming back.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to Cherry's family and relatives on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
