Christopher Ray Lopez, 48 years old- passed away on February 20th, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.
Chris Lopez was born to Simon F. Lopez and Yolanda Jaso on August 13, 1976, in San Angelo, TX. He was a lifelong San Angelo resident and attended Lakeview High School. He was the youngest of three boys.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Yolanda J. Lopez, and his father, Simon F. Lopez. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his four children; his sons Justin Lopez, Jonathan Fernandez, and Christopher Lopez Jr.; his daughter Savannah Lopez and fiancé, Keng Saeung; two brothers, Jerry Lopez and Timothy Lopez; two grandchildren; Grandson Dominic Lopez and granddaughter Penelope Saeung; three nieces; Brittany Lopez, Ashley King, and Katie Lopez; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Chris was a beloved father, son, brother, and friend to many. He was known as "Tata", "Welo", and "Tio." Chris was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved to watch his favorite team play. By trade, he was a cabinetmaker/carpenter. He was employed at Dominguez Cabinets and also worked for David Castillo doing cabinetry. One of Chris' last projects was a couple of wooden guitars for his son Justin and his grandson Dominic.
Some of the many talents Chris was known for was his gift of drawing and doing tattoos. One of the most memorable characteristics that Chris had- was his sense of humor. Chris had a way of making people laugh- no matter the circumstance. From his youth into adulthood, he was always a jokester.
Among all these things, Chris' greatest passion was being around his kids and grandkids. It always made his day. Even just a phone call or a text from them. This is what truly brought him joy.
Chris will truly be missed by all who knew him. And his memory will forever be implanted in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank Hendricks Hospital/Hospice Care Staff; and also express their sincere gratitude to all the family and friends of Chris, who came together to honor him.
May Chris' memory live on and bring us joy and comfort as we reflect on the times we had with him. This is not a "goodbye"...but a "see you later until we meet again."
