Cipriano CL “Pano” Losoya Chapoy, 88 years old entered into the gates of Heaven on May 16, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in San Angelo, Texas, to parents Lucas and Casimira Losoya Chapoy on September 23, 1935. He was a loving father to his daughter, Gloria Chapoy.
Pano was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He lived life with love and faith in God, knowing that God was the Savior of all. Pano was a man of respect and loved Jesus Christ.
He was one of the first golf members to join Pan American in 1965, when it was created in San Angelo, Texas. He was a charter member of the Pan American. He played in various golf tournaments & made nationals every year, for 25 years. He traveled to the nationals in Kansas City, MO. by bus and was the only one to represent San Angelo and he won in his flight. In 1994, he came out in the P.A G. A. National golf tournament special issue magazine; he was named golfer of the year, in Fort Worth Texas.
He worked as a maintenance man for the Village Apartments for over 20 years. He also worked for the Original Fuentes Café for 5 years, but most probably remember him as a dedicated employee at Henry’s Restaurant, greeting us all prior to his retirement.
Proceeded in death, by his parents, His Brothers: Porfilio, Juan and Esequiel Chapoy, His Sisters: Adela Luera (Luis Sr.), Elvira Chapoy and Mary Biera (Rudolph Sr.), His nieces and nephews: Esequiel Jr. Chapoy, Rosalinda Reyes (Ramon), Theodore Luera, Patsy Biera and Luis Luera Jr.
Survived by his daughter, Gloria Chapoy of Carlsbad, Texas; his sister Ramona Silva (Jose) of San Angelo, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved as his own: Gilbert Chapoy (Betty Serano), Nancy Vasquez (Sammy), Juan Chapoy Jr., Sylvia Robles (Ernest Garivay) of San Angelo, Texas; Marylou Hutto, Linda Luera, Gloria Luera, Daniel Chapoy of Dallas, Texas; Margarita Ocampo (Martin) of Waxahachie, Texas; Linda Conn (William) of Carrollton, Texas; Maria A. Chapoy, Eddie Sosa (Yolanda) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Hilda Peggy Diaz, Diana Aleman (The Late Augustine Trillo), Veronica Chapoy of Dallas, Texas; Vera Reyes (Ruben) of Irving, Texas; Alvin Chapoy (Gloria) of Balch Spring, Texas; Joey Chapoy (Mary) of Grand Prairie, Texas; Fred Biera (Lupe), David Biera, Rudolph Biera Jr. and Raully Biera of San Angelo, Texas; Ramon Biera (Trini) of Arlington, Texas; Tony Biera (Sandra) of Childress, Texas; Sylvia Cortez (The Late Donald Jake) of Irving, Texas; Adella Martinez of San Jose, California. and Phenicia Martinez of Eureka, California.
A celebration of Pano’s life begins with a Viewing at 3:00 PM, followed by Recitation of the Rosary on Thursday May 23, 2024, at 6:30 PM, held at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels North (1002 North Oakes Street. San Angelo Texas 76903); and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (7 West Avenue N. San Angelo, Texas, 76903), with Interment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery (1501 W. Ave N San Angelo, Texas, 76904).
