Danny Zapata, 52, of Odessa, Tx and formerly of San Angelo, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 in Odessa, TX. A Prayer Service will be at 5:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North, 1002 N Oakes St, San Angelo, TX 76903. Funeral Service will be Saturday at 9:00 am at the funeral home with interment following at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
Mr. Zapata was the pastor and home director of Odessa Victory Home for the last three years. Previously he had been in Joshua 1:2 Fellowship under pastor Mike Suarez Sr. for seven years. Danny had a passion for Christ and for the lost souls. He had the honor to be a father to many men and women in the body of Christ. There is one whom received and gave love in return (Juan B. Grimaldo). He is preceded in death by his parents, Antolin and Maria C Zapata, brother Antolin Zapata Jr and his sister, Elsie Zapata Garcia.
Survivors include his wife Esperanza Soto Zapata of Odessa, his parents, 2 sons, Jonathan Escobedo (Zapata) and Jose Angel Zapata; daughters, Daniela Zapata, Loribeth Zapata, step-daughter Iliana Trejo and husband Esteban. Other survivors include his brothers, Ruben Zapata (Glorinda), Joe Richard Zapata (Lisa), Jesse James Zapata (Yamel) and his sisters, Gloria Z Sosa (Neri) and Connie Z Flores (Carlos); and numerous grandchildren. Other survivors include numerous cousins, nieces and nephews .
Isaiah 40:31 Pallbearers will be Joe Lee Zapata, Jesse James Zapata, Jonathan Escobedo (Zapata), Freddie Garcia Jr., Esteban Trejo, Allen G. Hamrick, Arnold Lerma, and Victor Gutierrez.
