David Noriega, 88, of San Angelo went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 4, 2025. David was born January 14, 1936, to Arnulfo and Gavina Noriega of Yuma, Arizona.
David married the love of his life; Inez Zapata Noriega whom he shared 62 wonderful years with. He was a dedicated and devout Catholic, along with his wife Inez at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed. David worked for the United States Postal Service for 35 years as well as American Airlines for 20 years. He loved sports and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees.
David is preceded in death by his wife Inez Zapata Noriega. He is survived by daughter Annette Perez and husband Edward of San Angelo; daughter Terri Hogue and husband Greg of McKinney; son David Noriega Jr. of San Angelo. He is also survived by two sisters; Armida Vasquez and Lydia Bommer of Yuma, Arizona; three brother in-laws, Cali Zapata and wife Rosemary of San Angelo, Jimmy Zapata and wife Audencia of San Angelo, and Bill Welborn of Conroe. He is also survived by eight grandkids: Christopher Perez, Andrew Perez, Brittne Noriega, Dannie Lara, David Ann Noriega, Jordan Perez, Samuel Hogue and Sofia Hogue. Eleven great-grandkids; Isabella Perez, Julius Ponce, Sophia Perez, Ian Ayala, Ciara Perez, Emmett Perez and Elijah Shaffer-Perez, Jonathan Lara, Anthony Lara, Scarlett Perez and Celina Perez. The family would like to thank everyone who reached out to visit, call and check on David these last several years. A Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
