David Torres

David Torres, 74, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2023.  David was born on October 23, 1948, in San Angelo, Texas to Pascual and Isabel Torres.  He is survived by his wife Eloisa, his son David and daughter Cynthia (George), granddaughter Victoria Rae and grandson Levi David, his sisters, Amelia Meza (Jesse), Ana Leal, Teresa Rodriguez (Adrian), Rita Holguin, Margaret Amaya and Rachel Trejo.  He also leaves behind his brothers, Danny (Alicia), John (Marivel), Steve (Rosa), Gilbert and Joe.  He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond Torres.

Besides his family, David was proudest to being a military veteran.  He served in the U.S. Army.  David graduated from Central High School.  He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carrizo Springs.  He retired from TXDOT in 2007 and then worked for Dimmit Regional Hospital as a security guard until his health declined.  Many people will remember David for his love of officiating all sports.  He loved to BBQ, walk and run marathons in his younger years.  Pallbearers will be David Torres, George Lomas, Ricky Guerra, Jason Meza, Joe Navarro and Gilbert Ramirez.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm on Monday July 10, 2023.at the Leonard Funeral Home, 707 West Houston St., in Carrizo Springs, Texas.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1004 N 6th St, in Carrizo Springs, Texas..  Services are under the direction of Leonard Funeral Home of Carrizo Springs, Texas.
