Emily Sue Oliver departed this life on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the age of 74 in San Angelo, Texas. Emily was born to Harold and Reta Oliver on April 13, 1951, in Baird, Texas. Emily was a lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Central High School and attending Angelo State University.
Emily dedicated many years as the office manager for Texas Test Fleet, and outside of her career, she was an avid bird watcher, she enjoyed watching birds at the feeder and listening to their songs. Emily found happiness in the simplest of things, she did not need grand gestures or possessions to feel fulfilled, instead she found joy in the gentle hum of a bee, the rustle of leaves underfoot, she understood that the greatest treasures in life often are not things we can buy but moments she could experience by connecting with nature and the outdoors.
In our fast-paced, materialistic world, it’s easy to forget the value of these simple pleasures. But Emily, the nature lover, sought to teach us to slow down, to appreciate what’s around us, and to find joy in the ordinary.
Emily will be forever remembered by her brother, Tommy Oliver and her sister, Barbara Aguero and her husband, Raymond Aguero. She will be remembered by her nieces, Kaci Aguero and Jocelyn Aguero and great niece Minnie and great nephew L.J.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Reta Oliver and her sister, Judith Oliver
Emily’s life was a beautiful story of devotion, and simple joys. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her radiant spirit will live on through the many lives she touched with her warm and loving heart.
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem’ry bittersweet
Until we meet.
