Evelia Castillo

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Evelia Castillo, our loving and devoted mother, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in San Angelo, Texas.  Evelia was born in Matugeo, Michoacán, Mexico to Procoro Ramirez-Pacheco and Herminia Reyes on April 11, 1952.  Evelia was married to Aurelio Castillo for 47 years until his passing. She is also predeceased by her son, Nestor Castillo.

Evelia was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.  She especially loved her role as a grandmother to Ari Hernandez. Preparing meals for her family is where Evelia drew her strength and left her legacy.  Being with her family was what Mom enjoyed most of all.  Mom’s life had many obstacles, yet through it all, her love and caring for her family remained her focus.

Evelia was the beloved mother of Juan Castillo, Cirilo Castillo Aurelio Castillo, Luis Castillo and daughter, Evelia Castillo.

Evelia will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Lino Ramírez, Luis Ramírez, Francisco Ramírez, Librado Ramirez and her sisters, Carmen Lemus and Elisa Castillo.

Evelia’s fighting spirit, fierce love, and tender concern for those around her will be dearly missed.  Se acabó tu recorrido por este mundo, nos has dejado desolados y llenos de dolor, pero con el consuelo de que empiezas una nueva vida al lado del Señor.
