John Todd Bryant, beloved son, brother, and friend, went home to be with Lord on June 17, 2023. John Todd Bryant, or Johnny as often called by his friends, was born in San Angelo Texas on July 24, 1967 to Marshall and Catherine Bryant. John enjoyed learning and loved attending Lake View High School. He proudly graduated in 1987 and his love of 80’s metal would stay with him his entire life. He loved to draw and paint, copying his favorite album covers and decorating items he found on his family's ranch for hours. John was a prankster and looked forward to April’s Fool Day every year. When not pranking his family and friends he would tell stories about the concerts he had seen, funny things the animals did, and crazy events from days on the ranch. He enjoyed playing pool and hanging out with his close friends Roger McClain, Johnny Quiroz, and Denny Unger. They remained close lifelong friends visiting him in group homes and the hospital. John would pray for all of his friends and family every day.
John loved his family, animals, and above all the Lord. John was a light and witness to all those around him. Though his disability made it difficult for him to see his family and friends often, he would ask by name how everyone was doing and how he could pray for them. John prayed for family, friends, and strangers everyday without ceasing and testified of the love and truth of Jesus Christ to anyone he met. Though he was disabled, the Lord would use him to witness to individuals that may have never heard the joy of the gospel. He even saved the life of a group home attendant during a violent encounter and an elderly woman at a nursing home.
John is survived by his parents, Marshall and Catherine Bryant, sister and brother-in-law Rachel and Denver Bilyeu, and many relatives and friends. The viewing will be at Gutierrez Funeral home at 1002 North Oakes Street. San Angelo, Texas on Wednesday June 21st from 5:30 pm till 730 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Victory Christian Center, 1620 Sunset Drive. San Angelo Texas on Thursday June 22nd at 11:00 am. There will be a luncheon directly following service.
