Mr. John Mora DeAnda, 88, of San Angelo, passed away on October 10, 2023, in Richmond, Texas.
Viewing and Visitation will commence on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 3:00 pm till 9:00 pm.at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 N Oakes St., San Angelo, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Faylona, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Josie Jasso DeAnda, his sons Raymond DeAnda (Elsa) grandsons Ryan and Michael of Austin, Texas; Robert DeAnda (Joanne) granddaughter Jessica, two great grandchildren of Austin, Texas ; Norma Salazar (Caesar) of Waxahachie, Texas, granddaughter Rosemarie Massengale (Bryce) of Naperville, Illinois, two great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter; Leticia DeAnda Franco (Eduardo) of Richmond, Texas, grandchildren Sebastian, Nicolas, and Arianna of College Station, Texas; Veronica DeAnda Cano of McAllen, Texas granddaughters Mia of Palo Alto, California and Ali of New York City, NY. Also survived by the children of his deceased son, John DeAnda Jr, Monica Atkins (Mike) of Lewisville, Texas, two great granddaughters, Camille Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers David Deanda (Nellie) and Margarito Deanda of San Angelo, Texas, eight step grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews, and many friends including his best friend, George Carrasco.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco DeAnda and Paula Mora DeAnda, his brothers Luis, Ray, Andres, Fred, Henry; sisters, Ida Barerra, and Juanita DeAnda, and son SSGT John DeAnda Jr. and grandson, Dennis John Tova formerly of Boulder, Colorado.
