Kwei Ying "Maria" Pitre

Kwei Ying "Maria" Pitre, age 76, passed into eternal rest on January 28, 2024. Born on November 26, 1947, in Meinong District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, she lived a life emblematic of virtue, family devotion, and active community engagement.

Maria's legacy endures through her family: her husband of 51 years, Waven Pitre; her son, Kevin Pitre and his wife Angela; her daughter, Sharon Parker and her husband Robby Truelove; her treasured grandchildren, Tyra, Taylor, Keegan, Kyler, Kash, and Trinity; and her adored great-grandchildren, Apollo and Emrys. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved siblings.

Upon retiring from Ethicon Inc., Maria continued to enrich her life and those around her. She was a faithful member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she found profound peace and community. Her hobbies, which included Tai Chi and regular visits to the Station 618 Senior Center, were a reflection of her spirited approach to life and her commitment to well-being. Maria also loved shopping, taking pictures and cooking amongst her family and friends.

Maria was an avid supporter of all sports and took particular joy in celebrating the achievements of her children and grandchildren, whom she adored spoiling with her love and attention. Moreover, she was a proud United States citizen and loved her country.

A memorial service to honor Maria's life will be held at 2:00 pm on February 10, 2024, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 2309 A & M, San Angelo, Texas. Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, located at 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas, is overseeing the arrangements.
