Obituary

Lee Ruppeck, age 81, of Christoval, Texas suddenly passed away on January 16th, 2023, in San Angelo, Texas.  Lee was born in Chicago, Illinois to Carl and Ann Ruppeck on February 7th, 1941. He grew up in Ahmeek, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois.  In 1965 he graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science Degree in psychology.  He entered the Navy officer's candidate school in 1966, completed naval aviation pilot training in 1967 and naval advanced airborne navigation school in 1968. He then served as a pilot of a P3 Orion searching for submarines over the Atlantic for the remainder of his military career. He retired from the Navy as a lieutenant in 1973.

In 1973, he moved to San Angelo and began his career with Mitsubishi in Aviation Production and Management until its closure in 1986. He then moved to San Antonio, Texas and worked for Dee Howard and other aircraft companies until his retirement.

Lee returned to his home in 2010 to Christoval, Texas where he tended his pecan orchard and relished country life. He and his dog Sam spent many happy days walking the pecan orchard together.

He is preceded in death by his parents.  Lee is survived by his daughter Jessica Ruppeck of Austin, Texas, and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
