The family of Mr. Leon De La Cruz, 73, is saddened to announce his passing on May 30, 2021 in San Angelo, Texas Leon was born on July 17, 1947 in Guanajuato, GTO., Mexico to Juan De La Cruz and Domitilia Gonzalez.
Mr. De La Cruz leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his children, Ledy Torres, Narcedalia De La Cruz, Tabitha Monreal, David De La Cruz, Luis Antonio De La Cruz, Mara Estrada and Naomi Guerrero as well his brothers, Juan De La Cruz, Julian De La Cruz, Ricardo De La Cruz, and sisters, Maria Vargas and Estella Delgado and Beatrice Vaquera. Leon was blessed to have 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mr. De La Cruz was predeceased by his beloved parents Juan De La Cruz and Domitila Gonzales De La Cruz, his brother, Jesus De La Cruz, sister, Paula De la Cruz and grandson, Anthony Gilbert Lara
Leon enjoyed taking his grandkids on fishing and camping trips. Leon was a perennial fan of the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed watching their games and would share with everyone that "Juan Gonzalez, Pudge Rodriguez and Mark McLemore,” were some of the club’s best players. “Those were my guys.” Leon would cruise his hometown with his faithful 4 legged companion, "Peaches". "Peaches" Leon's constant and faithful companion is waiting for Leon and a drive around the heavens.
Viewing and visitation will commence on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Iglesia Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus, 200 South Main, Big Lake, Texas with a prayer service to be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 2, 20212 at the church. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at the church, Iglesia Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus, 200 South Main Street, Big Lake, Texas. Interment will follow at the Glen Rest Cemetery under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
Those carrying Leon to his final resting place will be, Luis, Vaquera, Steve Adame, Ernesto Guerrero, David Medrano, Jennifer De La Cruz and Cruz Fernando Guerrero.
