Leslie Warren Brice, lovingly known as Les or "Papa" to his grandchildren, passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 81 in San Angelo, Texas.
Leslie was born on February 3, 1944, in Blackwell, Texas, and raised in Bronte, Texas. He was one of many children born to Julius T. and Shellie Brice, growing up on the family farm surrounded by his siblings. He attended school in Bronte, where he played football—a sport he loved dearly.
After high school, Leslie proudly served his country in the United States Army as an engineer during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he continued his hard-working spirit in the construction industry, building homes and providing for his family.
On June 13, 1970, Leslie married the love of his life, Julia. They shared 54 wonderful years and raised three children: Leslie Jr., Michael, and Melissa. Family meant everything to him.
Leslie found joy in the simple things—he loved his children and grandchildren deeply, never missed a moment to update you on the latest sports news, and enjoyed watching sports, listening to classic country music, and relaxing with his favorite westerns.
One of the highlights of Leslie’s year was always the Brice family reunion, where he looked forward to spending time with his siblings and many nieces and nephews. His favorite tradition at the reunion was playing cards, often surrounded by laughter and storytelling that made those moments unforgettable.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Shellie Brice, as well as several siblings.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julia Brice of San Angelo; his children, Leslie Brice Jr. and wife Rita of San Angelo, Michael Brice of San Angelo, and Melissa Domingues of San Angelo; his grandchildren, Shellie, Sammy, Samuel, Daxtyn, and Noah; and his great-grandchildren, Addy, Carsyn, and Brooklin—also, a few siblings and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leslie's legacy of love, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
