Lydia Andrade Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lydia Andrade, on Monday, July 21, 2025.  Lydia was born on March 21, 1941, in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.  She was the cherished daughter of Santiago and Maria Minjarez, and from an early age, she demonstrated a loving spirit and a heart dedicated to service. Lydia lived a life marked by grace, strength, and unwavering faith.

A nurturing and devoted mother, Lydia raised her children with kindness, wisdom, and a deep commitment to their well-being. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her. She was a proud and joyful grandmother, and she found great joy in watching her grandchildren grow.

She had a deep love for gardening and was known for her green thumb. Her garden was a place of beauty and peace, blooming with the care and joy she poured into it. She was also an exceptional cook—meals from her kitchen nourished both body and soul. Her home was known as a place of warmth and comfort, where a hot, delicious meal was always ready for anyone who came by. Whether you were family, friend, or a neighbor just stopping in, you left her home feeling welcomed and full—of food and love.

A lifelong member of Iglesia Apostólica de la Fe en Cristo Jesús, Lydia was a pillar of her faith community, whether serving alongside her husband, Jesus, the pastor, and sharing him with the whole congregation, and accepting his unwavering dedication to the work of the ministry.  Lydia, with grace and humility, visited the sick, served meals for the less fortunate, participated in various ministries, all the while simply being a source of quiet strength and prayer.  Her dedication to the Lord and her church was steadfast. Her faith was not just something she professed, but something she lived—every day, in every daily action.

She is survived by her husband Jesus Andrade, and the devoted mother to her two (2) children: Victoria Gonzales, spouse Jeronimo Gonzales, and Jaime Andrade, spouse Christina Andrade.  Lidia will be fondly remembered by her five (5) grandchildren: Abel Gonzales, Saul Gonzales, Tiffany Andrade, Jesse Andrade and Ivan Zapata, as well as her seven (7) great grandchildren. Other survivors include her brother Isaias Minjarez and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Sara Zapata, grandson Ernest Zapata Jr.

Friends and family are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas.

A celebration of Lydia’s life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas, with Pastor Joel Valles officiating.  Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 F.M. Hwy 1223, San Angelo, Texas
