Marcelo Martinez

A cowboy, Marcelo Martinez, age 93, of San Angelo, Texas, rides in Heaven, roped by Our Father’s Hand to dwell amid the angels.  Marcelo was born to Hilaria Velasco Martinez and Timoteo Martinez on January 16, 1930, in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico.  

He worked hard and liked to celebrate life and dedicated himself to raising and providing for his family.  He stood for what he felt was right and provided a model for his children to follow. His wit and friendly personality will now charm the angels. 

Marcelo leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his beloved wife, Bertha Martinez, his sons, Gustavo Martinez, Alfonso Martinez, Raudel Martinez, Jose Luis Martinez, Marcelo Martinez, Jr. and his daughters, Rebecca Garza, Patricia Diego, Rosa Jimenez and Maria Sharp. 

Friends and family are invited and may call at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  A Chapel Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:15 a.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas.  Interment will follow at the Harriett Community Cemetery, FM 1692 North, Harriet, Texas, 

His spirit lies within us – The lives on earth he blessed we will hold each gentle memory in our hearts, evermore.  The sod he loved, his blanket now beneath the open skies.
