Maria Huerta

Maria del Rosario Huerta, 69, of San Angelo, Texas, was released from this life and entered into eternal peace on Friday, May 28, 2021. Maria “Chayo” was born on September 7, 1952, to Amado Huerta and Magdalena Arriaga in Piedras Negras, Coah. Mexico.

Maria “Chayo” will be forever loved and forever remembered by her son Adam Huerta and his wife Rosalva as well as by her brother Angel Huerta and wife Peggy, her sister Silvia Blanco and husband Jose Luis, and her sister Geneva Alcala and husband Joe, and her sister Magdalena Arriaga.

Maria’s beloved grandchildren are Deserray Huerta, Cross Huerta, Nino Huerta and Dante Huerta.  Maria’s special great-grandchildren are Isaiah Huerta, Luna Huerta, Juliette Huerta and Mario Alvarez Jr. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.  Maria “Chayo” is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Maria was a very strong willed and amazing woman. She owned Huerta Construction and worked tirelessly for many years alongside her family.  She always enjoyed having family over and traveled as much as she could. She went on many adventures in her life, but the best and most memorable outings were with her children.

Friends and family are invited and may call at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.  Chapel Services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the "Remembrance Chapel" of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North, 1002 North Oakes.   Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels.

Maria’s indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles, she will be missed but not forgotten.
