Mary Martinez Obituary

Mary Lou Martinez 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Mary Lou was born on August 11, 1939, in San Angelo, Texas. Mary Lou was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She married Efren F. Martinez Sr. on February 14,1986. They were blessed with 18 years of marriage.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Efren F. Martinez Sr.; her son, Paul Guevara Sr.; her stepdaughter, Vivian Martinez; and her brother, Armando Guevara. She retired after 23 years with Ethicon.  She had a deep love for her family, music, and traveling with her siblings. She also loved going to Las Vegas for the shows, food and playing the penny slots. Mary Lou loved spending time in the kitchen. We would sit all around the table as she chopped and seasoned telling us the latest funny story. She is survived by her son, Efren F. Martinez Jr. and his wife Janelle Martinez; her stepdaughter Viola Cervantes; her sisters, Rita Guevara, Yrima (Irma) Wheaton and Dolores Savell; and her brother Ernest Guevara. She is also survived by her grandchildren Audrie Martinez, Miles Martinez, Andrew Guevara, Paul Guevara Jr. and Michael Guevara. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The viewing and service will be Monday, December 13th from 3:00-8:00 pm at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m. by Deacon Jesse Martinez.  The family will have a private burial at a later date.
