With sadness, love and profound gratitude, the family of Raymond Orsak announces his passing on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in San Angelo, Texas. Raymond was born January 27, 1929, in Ganado, Jackson County, Texas, the youngest son of Jim F. and Emma Olsovsky Orsak.
Raymond rejoins his loved ones, his parents, his five brothers, Alfonse, Jerry, Julius, Alfred and Willie Orsak, his sister, Edith Orsak Hudec as well as his father and mother-in-law Morris and Mary Henry.
He is survived by and forever remembered by his wife, Betty Orsak and son, James “Jamie”, his sister, Frances Orsak Thomason and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Orsak and a brother-in-law, Roy Don Henry and wife Carol, sister-in-law Fay Walter and husband Ray, as well a nephew, Sam Orsak and wife Barbara Orsak and numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Raymond and Betty met in 1957 and were married on April 17, 1959, and were married 66 years before his passing.
Raymond was employed by A.R. Nesbett for 27 years as a welder, fabricator and shop foreman before his retirement. His craftsmanship was exceptional, marked by meticulous attention to detail and a strong work ethic that set a standard for those around him. Colleagues often spoke of his ability to tackle even the most complex projects with a combination of skill and creativity, earning him admiration and respect from peers and supervisors alike. Some of his trailers and horse trailers are still seen around.
Not only was Raymond proficient in his trade, but he also took the time to mentor younger employees, sharing his knowledge and passion for welding and fabrication. His enthusiasm for his work was infectious. This commitment to fostering talent in the workplace speaks volumes about his character. Before his professional life, Raymond was deeply engaged in farming. Some of his trailers and horse trailers he fabricated are still seen around town.
Fun times were helping his brother-in-law Don Henry and nephew, Sam Orsak get their first scooters and cars up and running.
Your presence is welcome at visitation on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes, San Angelo, Texas from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church, 800 Culwell Street, San Angelo, Texas at 10:00 a.m. with Ricky Green, Visiting Angels Chaplain, officiating. Interment to follow at Fairmont Cemetery, 1120 West Avenue “N”, San Angelo, Texas.
