Renee LaBelle Flores-Hernandez, 42, of San Angelo passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas
A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2022, at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 N. Oakes Street., San Angelo, Texas. A viewing will be held from 3:00-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels. Pastor Juan Flores will be officiating the funeral. Joining by Zoom will be Pastors Felix Herrera from Tecate, Baja California and Pedro Anglon from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Renee was born in San Angelo, Texas on March 2, 1979. She was the loving daughter of Juan and Alma Flores. Renee was a wonderful friend and caring person to those around her. She had a passion for art and loved to paint. She enjoyed numerous other hobbies such as baking, singing, and playing the keyboard. Renee grew up in the Church and loved to serve the Lord as she was an ordained minister. She used her God-given talents to praise Him daily as the leader of the praise band, Radiance, at Church of the Crosses, and encouraged others in their own faith. Renee attended multiple schools growing up as she moved for the sake of sharing the Gospel. While she was in high school, at the age of 15, Renee was given the opportunity to sing with Hosana Integrity in both Houston and Hawaii. She competed in band and tennis while at Post High School and eventually graduated at Southland High School, where she was Valedictorian of the Class of ’97. Shortly, after her graduation, she married the love of her life, Eddie Hernandez, the same year. soon the couple welcomed their only child, Sapphire, to their family in 2004.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Rene, and grandparents, Natividad Flores, Concepcion Flores, Elvira Espinosa, and Nazario Cabrera. She is survived by her parents, Juan and Alma Flores, husband, Eddie Hernandez, and daughter Sapphire Flores-Hernandez, all of Slaton, Texas.
