Ricardo Arias went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2022, at the age of 81. Ricardo was born June 22, 1941, in Zaragoza Municipality, Coahuila, Mexico to Ricardo Arias and Luisa Rosales.
Ricardo lived most of his life in San Antonio, where he worked as a baker for a family-owned bakery, La Fiesta Bakery. He then moved his family to San Angelo to start his own business and bakery, La Popular Bakery in the 80's, where he gained local recognition for his famous and delicious mouthwatering donuts. He retired from baking; a job that brought him pleasure as well as serving the community in 2016. His special pastime was spending time with all his grandchildren, family gatherings, laughing and making memorable family memories. He enjoyed traveling and always looked forward to his weekend trips to San Antonio and Acuna, Mexico.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his parents Ricardo and Luisa Arias, his wife Guadalupe Arias, his two brothers, Jesus and Jose Luis Arias, his sister Manuela Gomez and his granddaughter Lisa Marie Perales. He is survived by his three brothers Miguel, Teodoro and Ramon Arias and two sisters, Esther Garza and Maria Elena Ponce.
Ricardo will be lovingly remembered by his five daughters, Margie and her husband Javier Murillo, Gloria and her husband Johnny Padron, Patsy Sanchez, Norma Arias, and Mari and her husband Mike Ayala as well as his two sons, Jesus "Chuy" Arias and Gerardo "Lalo" Arias and his wife Sandra and 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Shannon Health ICU nurses and administrative staff for their attentive care as well as his physicians, Dr. Cerna, Dr. Perret, Dr. Zarate and Dr. Conde. We appreciate you.
Se acabó tu recorrido por este mundo, nos has dejado desolados y llenos de dolor, pero con el consuelo de que empiezas una nueva vida al lado del Señor.
