Our beloved Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Brother, Rogaciano “Chano” Diaz Rodriguez went home to be with the Lord in Big Lake, Texas on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Rogaciano was born on August 20, 1938, in San Carlos, Coahuila, Mexico to Gregorio Diaz & Dominga Rodriguez-Diaz.
He went on to meet and marry his wife Jacinta, on October 23, 1967. They soon started a family and had 3 daughters and a son. Rogaciano leaves behind his wife Jacinta, daughter Olga and husband Abelardo Madrid of Midland, Tx, Dora and husband Jesus Esquivel of Big Lake, Tx, and son Carlos and wife Lily Diaz of Odessa, Tx. Rogaciano loved being surrounded by his family and even more by his grandchildren, Cassandra Madrid, Jessica Diaz, Evelyn Diaz, Jessica Esquivel, Bianca Madrid, Lupe Diaz, Jesus Esquivel Jr, Abelardo Madrid Jr, Josue Diaz, Aracely & Annalee Esquivel, Pablo Diaz, Areli Madrid, Carlos Diaz Jr, Stephanie Madrid, Sandy Esquivel, and Azul Diaz. He was described as “the best grandpa”. Rogaciano loved his job as a ranch hand. He enjoyed riding horses and roping. He loved traveling back to his hometown in Mexico and visiting his sisters, Isidra Veloz and Socorro Fernandez. He was a very friendly soul, he talked to anyone who would talk back. He enjoyed every moment, big and small. When speaking with those who knew "Chano" best, they say he will be remembered for his laughter and concern for others and for the way he brightened the worst of days. Rogaciano was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Fernanda Arredondo, Maria Diaz, and his daughter, Aracely Diaz. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
