Russell P Guevara

Russell P. Guevara of San Angelo, Texas, 76 years of age, passed on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. 

Russell was born on October 25, 1943 in Ballinger, Texas to the late Josephina and Daniel Guevara.  He married Sylvia in May of 1965 and had 4 children, Kristy, Kathy and Boyfriend Luis Castro, Joseph and wife Vanessa, and Randy and wife Amanda.  He also shared his life with 11 Grandchildren plus one on the way and 5 Great Grandchildren. 

At a young age, Russell entered the Army and served for 3 years.  Over the years, he was employed by Kayway, Curry Motor Freight, Central Motor Freight Lines, Weathersbee Electric, and then went on to open his own business of Angelo DC Electric with his son, Joseph. 

Russell enjoyed spending numerous hours on the lake as he and Sylvia taught their children to swim and water ski.  Many friends and family remember Russell as a person always willing to lend a helping hand.  He had a hard exterior but a soft heart and always made people laugh with his jokes and humorous conduct. 

A Rosary will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 2:30 pm at Gutierrez Funeral Chapel at 1002 N. Oakes Street, San Angelo, TX 76903.  Following the rosary will be a Memorial Service at 3:00 pm with Msgr. Larry Droll officiating.   His family will always remember that “Green Acres is the place to be.”
