Santos Ramires Velasquez, 87, of San Angelo, Texas, went into our Lord and Savior's loving arms on Wednesday at 3:18 pm in San Angelo, Texas surrounded by his family. Santos was born on January 20, 1934. He was a veteran and served as Private First Class in the Army and worked on missiles. He was also a forklift driver for "M " System's warehouse. He was a devoted man of God, family man and pastor at his Church of Christ on West Ave Z. Santos was a onery man. Although he was not affectionate, he showed his love by providing for his family. He raised several generations of his family and was always directly involved with them. He was married to the love of his life, Elvira, who preceded him in death in October 1991. He remained a widower and never dated or remarried, hoping for the day that he would be reunited with his wife in heaven. He loved to sing and play hymns on his accordion and guitar and loved to read the bible. He loved the Lord Jesus and shared his faith with everyone. Santos is survived by his brother Manuel Velasquez, daughter Lea Velasquez and great-grandson Eric Velasquez whom he cared for, raised and loved deeply. He is also survived by his grandchildren Debra Velasquez, Erica Velasquez Rodriguez and husband Jesse, Jennifer Garza and spouse Autumn, Alexis Garza, James Garza, Mark Velasquez, Alexsandra Velasquez, AnnaAlicia Velasquez, Joshua Velasquez all of San Angelo, and Cecilia and Sean Velasquez of Austin. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Elvira, his parents, Manuel and Juanita, son Santos, daughter Yolanda, his two sisters, Felicitas and Olivia and his three brothers, Estevan, Jose and Bruno. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Shannon 4th floor staff for their outpouring care.
Viewing will be from 3:00 pm till 8:30 pm with a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North located at 1002 N Oakes. Funeral Services will be Monday, December 13, 2021, at the funeral home with a procession after the services to his place of rest at Belvedere Memorial Park, 3504 Arden Road. Services are under the care and direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
