Tommy T. Samaripa Jr. 66, of San Angelo, TX, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and best friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2022. Tommy was born to Tommy and Lillie Samaripa on January 19, 1956, in San Angelo, TX. Tommy married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Rose Sánchez on April 28, 1979. He and Rose had two children: a son, Tommy James (TJ) Samaripa, a daughter Ermelinda Samaripa and five grandsons: Nicholas Isaiah, Christian James, Caden Shea, Caleb Thomas and Elijah Jayden. Tommy's love for his children and grandsons was unconditional. Tommy didn’t want to be known by his grandsons as just a tough guy, but a “godly grandfather.” Tommy was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Sanchez Samaripa, and his parents: Tommy and Lillie Samaripa. Survivors include three brothers: Robert Samaripa, Edward Samaripa, Manuel Samaripa, also four sisters: Emma Darilek (Johnny), Linda Lombrana (Joe), Alice Samaripa and Amanda Herrera (Albert). Tommy was an avid fisherman, his favorite NFL sports team was the Dallas Cowboys, he enjoyed playing softball, and was a big fan of boxing. Prior to his retirement Tommy worked for the City of San Angelo for nearly 30 years.
A 2 p.m. homegoing praise and worship, funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, at Freedom Fellowship with Pastor, Harold Watkins officiating. Freedom Fellowship is located at 342 S. Chadbourne St., San Angelo, Texas.
