Uziyah Sergio Garcia

A child is always with us. First in their lifetime, then forever in our memory.

It is with a broken heart, shattered spirit and overwhelming sadness the family, of our precious and beautiful boy, Uziyah Sergio Garcia, 10, of Uvalde, Texas, and formerly of San Angelo, Texas shares his passing along with 20 other precious lives, on May 24, 2022, in Uvalde, Texas. 

Uziyah was born on August 13th, 2011, in San Angelo, Texas, to his parents Sergio Garcia and Mandy Marie Renfro. "Uzi" attended Day Head Start and TLCA in San Angelo.  Uziyah was a loving, sweet, outgoing, energetic, and smart child. Uzi loved his family and Jesus.  He loved his cousins and brothers from another mother very much.  He loved playing Nintendo Switch and Oculus.  He was competitive, but kind and fair.  He loved running, jumping on trampolines, swimming, football, gorilla tag, and vacationing with his Aunt Grace and Uncle JR and the Molina family.  

We will forever miss Uzi, but most of all his contagious laugh, his shaggy hair, and silly jokes. We will miss saying, "I love you and Jesus loves you", especially his reply, “…and Jesus loves you too!”

Uziyah will be forever remembered by his parents, Sergio Garcia and Mandy Marie Renfro, and his stepmother, Crystal Garcia; and lovingly remembered by his sisters, Desiyah Marie Garcia and Mykah Niamya Grace Garcia; stepbrothers Ayden and Gaston De Hoyos; his paternal grandparents, Sylvia Arambula, José Álvarez, and Felix Garcia; his maternal grandfather, Manny Renfro; step-grandparents, Casey Garcia and Baldemar Delgado;  paternal great-grandparents, Angel and Marilla Alvarez; aunts, Leticia Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Cassandra Smith, and Jasmine Alvarez; uncles, John David Barron and Andy Alvarez; great-aunts and uncles, Beder and Mary Grace Valencia, Janie Arambula, Samuel and Terri Arambula;  cousins Samuel Arambula Jr., Daniel Dae Perez, Matthew Arambula, Cristopher Arambula, Mariah Nicole Mendoza, Alexus Olivarez, Josiah Angel Mendoza, Adrian Olivarez, and Jeriah Barron; and many more loving family members.  Uziyah was preceded in death by his Mimi, Sharon K. Renfro.  

A celebration of Uziyah's life and the love his family has for him is planned for Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 10:00 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 90 East 14th Street, San Angelo, Texas 76903, services have been entrusted to Gutierrez Funeral Chapels and staff, 1002 North Oakes Street, San Angelo, Texas.  Uziyah's final resting place will be at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Hwy. 1223, San Angelo, Texas 76905

Sergio Garcia, and his family, would take this opportunity to share his thanks to all those who through your kind acts, thoughts, deeds, and fervent prayers have supported our family during our bereavement of Uziyah.  Our hearts are broken with the loss of one so precious to us, and we have mourned deeply. We have grieved as never before.  It is unchartered territory, fraught with sorrow and tears. Yet, as we know, life blooms again through kindness, and it is our prayer that God bestows His best unto all of you as you have been such a blessing in our time of need.
