Some people only walk on this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. On Thursday, February 27, 2024, Veronica Ramirez DeLeon, rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings. Veronica was born to Luciano DeLeon, Sr. and Dora Elia DeLeon on August 31, 1976, in Big Lake, Texas.
Veronica was a S.P.E.D. (Special Education teacher) at Reagan County Elementary School, Big Lake, Texas. She provided tailored instruction to her students with diverse learning needs, ensuring the instruction they received provided them with the support necessary to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Losing a beloved teacher like Veronica is a profound and heartbreaking experience, one that leaves an indelible void in the hearts and minds of her students and colleagues alike. Veronica had an incredible gift for building strong and meaningful relationships with both her students and colleagues.
Veronica’s love, laughter and spirit will live on in our hearts as we remember the joy they brought to our lives. Despite the challenges she faced, Veronica brought a unique light into this world, and her life reminds us all just how important love, patience and resilience are in our journey.
Veronica will be forever loved and forever remembered by her children, Julian Aaron Zamora and Nora Elia Vasquez. She will be fondly remembered by her siblings, Luciano DeLeon, Jr. and wife, Victoria DeLeon, Maria Ysela Garcia, Husband, Felipe Garcia, Dora Herlinda Sanchez and husband, Juan Sanchez, Jr. She will be missed by her nieces and nephews.
Among her many wonderful attributes, Veronica was an avid and competitive Bunko player, she enjoyed arts and crafts and especially enjoyed all genres of music. She was always eager and excited to join a “Girl’s Trip”.
Regan County Owls was her favorite team and would cheer her children on at every function.
Teachers are keys that unlock the student’s mind; they are guides who mold our mind, they are one of a kind. Veronica’s fighting spirit, fierce love and tender concern for those around her will be dearly missed.
