He attended St. Mary's Catholic School where there he met Juanita (Jane) Rocha and were married in 1954. Together they had six children and began his working life. In 1956 he joined the National Guard and was private first class of the 142d infantry.

In the 60s he became a gourmet chef at the new cactus hotel and came home smelling deliciously good. He's self-taught in all musical instruments and was well-known more for his accordion and keyboard. He formed a band and played on weekends at the 'Wayside Inn' club with is group called Victor Samaniego y Los Tigres. To continue feeding his kids he opened a bakery shop called 'Victorios Bakery'. Best donuts in town where people would just come to see the famous 'Divorce cake'.

In the 70s he was an insurance agent for American National insurance company and made staff manager. As the kids got bigger and their needs got bigger, he went into the rental property business.  He Later opened his own business office called Samaniego Insurance agency and added a bail bond business where after several years of business he retired.

He was our hero, and everything we would like to be.
