Wanda Duran Reyes entered into eternal peace on Saturday, September 20, 2025, after a brief battle with cancer. Wanda was born on September 23, 1973, to Joe Reyes and Rosa Duran Reyes in San Angelo, Texas. She was preceded in death by Alex Martinez and her brother Jesse Reyes.
Wanda loved oldies and lowriders, dancing to Spanish music and her dog “Traviesa”. Her grandchildren were her world, Wanda loved to love on people, she loved them hard and would give anyone the shirt off her back, she fed everyone that came into her life, her "love language" was “cooking”. Wanda was known for her hearty laugh and kind heart. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. Wanda had a rare gift for finding the good in people and bringing out the best in everyone around her. Her presence was a source of peace and comfort, as she enjoyed her last days living with her family and mother. Wanda’s joyful spirit was evident to all who knew her.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter, Mercedes Reyes (wife Erica), her sons Frankie Reyes (wife Zelda), Alex Martinez (wife Monique) and Jesus Martinez. Wanda will be forever loved and remembered by her parents Joe and Rosa Reyes, her brothers Joe Reyes, Mark Duran Reyes (wife Ahstin), Mike Duran Reyes and her only sister April Reyes and special niece Nickole Reyes (husband Aaron), 17 grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family are invited and may call Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels, 1002 North Oakes Street, San Angelo, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will commence at 6:00 p.m., presided by Sammy Duran.
